Manuel Turizo (full name Manuel Turizo Zapata) is an urbano and reggaeton singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Colombia whose trademark is his smooth buttery tenor singing voice. His music has seen major global inroads into the Latin popular music scene. Una Lady Como Tu, his hit from 2016, received the Colombian Kids Choice Award in 2017 for Favorite Song. His debut album ADN was made available by La Industria Inc., a Medellin-based Sony distribution company. It reached number 8 in the Top Latin Albums chart. Vaina Loca was A Top Five hit for Ozuna and him in the following year. He collaborated on a track with Noriel for Mala Influencia in the year 2020. He later that year, released his sophomore album which was the charting Dopamina. In 2021, he appeared in a duet with TINI to perform her online single Maldita Foto. The hit single La Bachata from 2000 was first released in 2023. Turizo was raised in music-loving family. His older brother and mother are both musicians. Interviews with him have described his involvement in music as mandatory. When he was a kid, he began learning to play saxophone guitar ukulele and piano. His initial choice of career was to be a veterinarian But his older brother Julian encouraged him to learn singing with an instructor from a Cuban teacher. The end result, realizing that he had the ability to sing, altered the trajectory of his life.
